Recommendations have been made to address potential psycho-social problems among earthquake survivors in the affected areas.

A psychiatric doctor emphasized the need to intensify psycho-social counseling, especially for women and children who are experiencing fear due to the earthquake.

Citizens in earthquake-hit areas have been mentally and psychologically traumatized, as suggested by Dr. Purna Rawal, a psychiatric doctor at Karnali Province Hospital. He recommended that the government implement a comprehensive psycho-social program in the affected areas.

'With frequent aftershocks in the region, citizens are in a precarious condition, and psycho-social problems are evident among the people in such situations. All three tiers of government should prioritize psycho-social counseling alongside relief and rehabilitation efforts,' he added.

Meanwhile, the Karnali Province government has deployed a team of psychosocial counselors to provide counseling services in the field.
