KDC orders to submit pleading notes on Sandeep Lamichhane rape case

Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane is accused of raping a minor.

KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 9

The Kathmandu District Court has issued an order for the submission of pleading notes related to the case of cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane within a month. The national cricket team member is accused of raping a minor.

In today's proceedings, a single bench led by Judge Keshav Prasad Ghimire directed the public prosecutor and Lamichhane's defense lawyers to submit their respective pleading notes within the given timeframe.

Previously, the court had remanded Lamichhane to judicial custody. However, the Patan High Court later granted him release on bail, setting it at Rs 2 million.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court issued an order permitting Lamichhane to represent Nepal in tournaments held outside the country.
