Lekhnath Mahotsav kicks off

POKHARA: The much-awaited Lekhnath Mahotsav will kick off in Lekhnath from tomorrow. Lekhnath Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman Baburam Jamarkattel said they have finished preparations for the Mahotsav. Constituent Assembly chairman Subash Chandra Nembang will inaugurate the Mahotsav. Stressing that Pokhara Valley is rich in natural resources, Jamarkattel said locals of the area are dedicated to the development of economic, educational, social, health, agriculture, tourism including others sectors. Lekhnath FNCCI general secretary Laxmi Prasad Tripathi said the Mahotsav is intended for the economic and social prosperity of the area. The Mahotsav, organized by FNCCI Lekhnath, is promoted by Nepal Tourism Board. Nepal Banijya Bank is the co-sponsor of the Mahotsav while the Nepali daily ‘Annapurna Post’ is the official media for the event. The organizers said that the Mahotsav has been organized for the development of business, industry, education, health, tourism and agricultural sectors of the area and to develop Lekhnath as ‘a garden of lakes’. Chairman Jamarkattel said the Mahotsav would strengthen the internal market and encourage locals to produce exportable goods. Various cultural programmes including marriage Mahotsav and Dohori will be the attractions of the event. All 322 stalls have been booked. The organizers have managed insurance for all participants of the Mahotsav.
