Executives from Himalaya Jet, a new long-haul carrier based in the United Kingdom, attended the Dubai Air Show and met with Boeing officials to execute the airline's plans.

Dipendra Gurung, President of Himalaya Jet and of Nepali origin and executives from Himalaya Jet's headquarters met with Boeing executives Jose Sicilia, Director of Leasing Asset Management from Boeing's headquarters in Seattle, and Vice President Rayan Weir for India and South Asia at the Dubai Air Show.

Gurung and his executives were accompanied by Tej Bahadur Chhetri, Ambassador of Nepal to the UAE.

According to a statement issued by Himalayan Jet, Himalaya Jet President Gurung is exploring various avenues and engaging with diverse communities to initiate the airline's launch. The plan is to commence operations using wide-body Boeing aircraft, focusing on offering direct point-to-point services without transit complexities assigned for direct flights originating from London, Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid, and Sydney to Kathmandu.

Himalaya Jet's main Boeing aircraft route stretches from Monte Carlo (Nice Airport) to casino destinations like Macau, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles for long-haul flights, the statement said.

'However, until acquiring their own AOC with brand new Boeing aircraft in Q3 of 2025, ACMI model from selected UK/EU lessor will operate the flights designated for Nepal, using their callsign,' the jet added.
