Federal Parliament Secretary-General Gautam resigns, Pandey's name recommended in vacant post

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 11

Federal Parliament Secretariat's Secretary- General, Dr Bharat Raj Gautam, has resigned from the post.

According to Secretariat Spokesperson, Eakram Giri, Dr Gautam has submitted his resignation to President Ram Chandra Paudel and citied 'family reason' for his decision to resign from the position.

He joined the government service in 2051 BS and assumed the role of the Federal Parliament Secretariat's Secretary- General on May 4, 2020.

The name of Secretariat's Secretary Padma Prasad Pandey has been recommended to make the appointment to the vacant post in accordance with the Article 106 of the Constitution.

The recommendation was jointly decided by the House of Representatives (HoR) Speaker and National Assembly Chairperson, it is said.
