NEPSE gains 0.32% on Thursday; Daily turnover hits Rs 3.151 Billion

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 14

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw a single-digit gain, increasing by 6.55 points or 0.32%, closing at 1,994.60 points on Thursday.

Simultaneously, the sensitive index, evaluating the performance of 'A' class stocks, also experienced an uptick to 376.36 points, indicating a 1.06-point or 0.28% gain. Similarly, the float index, reflecting the performance of actively traded shares, also made positive strides, reaching 137.53 points, indicating a 0.36-point or a 0.26% gain.

The daily turnover for the day stood at Rs 3.151 billion, derived from the exchange of 9,637,455 units of shares from 300 companies, occurring through 66,955 transactions.

The total market capitalization increased to Rs 3.075 trillion.

In today's trading, 140 companies advanced, while 91 declined, and four remained unchanged.

The market showed positive trends with only five sub-indices in the red. The Trading index experienced the most significant loss with a 0.92% drop. Meanwhile, the Other index was the top gainer with a 1.51% increase, followed by the Development bank index with a 1.33% gain and the Hydropower index with a 1.12% increase.

Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited (SONA) claimed the top position in terms of turnover, volume, and transactions, with 444,033 units of its shares transacted in 6,780 transactions, totaling Rs 160,478,431.00.

In today's market, Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) Ltd (BNL), Himalayan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd (HLBSL), Nepal Hydro Developers Ltd (NHDL), and Nepal Republic Media Limited (NRM) emerged as the top gainers.
