KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 24

Two newly-appointed ministers in Lumbini Province took the oath of office and secrecy on Sunday.

Krishna KC of the CPN (Maoist Centre) was sworn in as the Minister for Urban Development, while Saroj Thapa of the Nepali Congress took the oath as the Minister for Industry and Transport Management.

The oath of office was administered by Province Chief Amik Sherchan. KC and Thapa were elected from Banke and Pyuthan, respectively, in last year's provincial assembly elections.

Chief Minister Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary had inducted them as ministers on Saturday. With the addition of these two ministers, the Lumbini cabinet now consists of nine members.
