Siddababa Tunnel project begins drilling today

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 18

The much-awaited tunnel project, Siddababa Tunnel in Palpa district, has officially begun drilling today.

With a total length of 2.59 km, it will connect southern cities of Nepal and Pokhara.

Taking to Twitter, the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, expressed optimism that the construction of the tunnel would reduce the risk of landslides and falling rocks, making a significant contribution to local economic development.

Ambassador Song also congratulated China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd (CSCEC) for commencing the project and urged the company to complete one of Nepal's National Pride Projects within the stipulated time.
