Gold drops Rs 400 per tola as Silver goes up by Rs 20

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 25

The gold price in the domestic market experienced a drop of Rs 400 per tola on Thursday, settling at Rs 118,000 per tola.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FeNeGoSiDA), fine gold was valued at Rs 118,400 per tola on Wednesday.The price had remained constant since Sunday, following a rise of Rs 400 from the Rs 118,000 per tola recorded on last Friday, which stood at Rs 118,000 per tola.

Similarly, standard gold is presently being traded at Rs 117,450 per tola, contrasting with the Rs 117,850 per tola on Wednesday.

Despite the depreciation in the value of gold, the silver market has exhibited a contrasting trend, gaining Rs 20 per tola. The current trading price for silver is recorded at Rs 1,400 per tola, compared to Rs 1,380 per tola on Wednesday. Notably, it had dropped to Rs 1,370 per tola on Tuesday following a decline from Rs 1,390 per tola on Monday.
