Cath lab machines brought into use at Lumbini Provincial Hospital

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 16

The Cath Lab equipment, which remained unused for almost one and a half years, has now been put into use at Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal.

The Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr. Sudarshan Thapa, mentioned that Cath Lab services were initiated by managing the necessary human resources to handle the equipment.

The machines, worth millions, had been stored in the hospital's storage for a long time. An article by the RSS on September 15, 2023, highlighted the storage of such high-end machines worth millions.

With the commencement of the Cath Lab service, heart patients have gained access to quality healthcare services, Dr. Thapa added.

Currently, a team of cardiologists, including Roshan Ghimire and others, is providing healthcare services to heart patients in the hospital under the leadership of senior cardiologist Arjun Budhathoki. The hospital has also started offering angiogram and angioplasty services, Dr. Thapa shared.

Similarly, the Province Health Ministry of Lumbini has allocated Rs 220 million for the operation of the Cath Lab.
