Rain, thunder, snow expected across country, Western low pressure system in play

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 21
Light rain is expected in scattered areas of Madhesh Province and the hilly regions of the country today, as forecasted by the Meteorological Forecast Division (MFD). This rainfall may be accompanied by thunder and lightning, it added.
Additionally, there's a likelihood of light to moderate snowfall in certain parts of the high hilly and mountainous regions.
The overall weather pattern across Nepal is forecasted to be partly to generally cloudy, persisting through the night. Moreover, some places in Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurparschim provinces may experience light rain or thunder and lightning during the night. This weather pattern will also affect certain hilly regions of the country.
The MFD also anticipates light snowfall in certain high mountainous areas of the country.
Over the past 24 hours, Jumla saw the highest recorded rainfall at 3.2 mm, trailed by 2.3 mm in Pokhara and 1.7 mm in Dadeldhura.
Presently, the country is under the influence of a western low-pressure system.
