KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 22

Ilam police arrested an individual on charge of rape on Wednesday.

The arrestee has been identified as Pemba Sherpa (33) of Suryodaya Municipality-1 in Ilam.

According to police, they arrested Sherpa following a report of sexual assault against a 35-year-old woman. Upon receiving the report, a police team deployed from Area Police Office, Manebhanjyang immediately arrested Sherpa in Manebhanjyang.

Further investigation into the case is underway, police added.
