Police arrests one with Rs 18 lakhs from unidentified origin in Nagdhunga

KATHMANDU, MARCH 31

Nepal Police apprehended an individual carrying a significant amount of cash of untraceable origin in Nagdhunga of Chandragiri Municipality-2, Kathmandu, on Saturday.

According to police reports, 23-year-old Risab Shrestha from Tilottama Municipality-11, Rupandehi, was found carrying Rs 1,850,000 in cash of unverified origin.

Shrestha, who serves as the driver's assistant on the passenger bus with plate number Lu 2 Kha 4535, was intercepted during a routine security check conducted at Nagdhunga, one of the entry point to the capital city.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the cash was handed over to Shrestha by Devendra Neupane, a 37-year-old resident of Tilottama Municipality-11, Rupandehi. Neupane had instructed Shrestha to deliver the money to Kathmandu.

Subsequently, Neupane has also been apprehended by the police.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, police added.
