KATHMANDU, APRIL 10
The government has declared a public holiday for tomorrow on the occassion of Eid-ul Fitr, a significant festival for the muslim community.
Issuing a press release today, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced that tomorrow would be observed as a public holiday nationwide. This year, the final day of Eid was rescheduled to Thursday due to the non-sighting of the moon today.
Today marks the conclusion of Ramadan, a month-long period of rigorous fasting observed by Muslims worldwide.
Members of the Muslim community gather at mosques and Idgah, designated areas for public prayers during Eid, to perform the Namaj, a special prayer for the occasion. Following the prayers, they exchange warm greetings and engage in festive feasting with loved ones.
