Government to review laws to address cooperative problems

KATHMANDU, APRIL 25

The government is set to review the legal framework to tackle the issues observed in financial cooperatives.

Additionally, it will assist in addressing the concerns of depositors in these cooperatives. Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Government Spokesperson, Rekha Sharma, announced these decisions following today's cabinet meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.

The meeting also appointed Sudarshan Dev Bhatt, a judge of the Patan High Court, as the chairperson of the appeals committee, entrusting him with additional responsibilities at the same court.

Furthermore, the government has instructed relevant agencies to take decisive action to minimize the damage caused by incidents of fires and wildfires occurring across the country and to bring them under control.
