Prez Paudel to unveil govt policy in joint federal parliament meeting

KATHMANDU, MAY 13

The government's policy and program for the upcoming year will be presented at a joint meeting of the federal parliament on Tuesday.

President Ramchandra Paudel will address the joint session at 3:00 pm to announce the government's policy and program for the fiscal year 2081/082 BS. Dasharath Dhamala, Assistant Spokesperson of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, confirmed that preparations for the meeting have been completed.

Invitations have been extended to Vice President Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav, Chief Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, and other dignitaries to attend the joint session of the House of Representatives (HoR) and National Assembly.

Meanwhile, main opposition Nepali Congress lawmaker Ramnath Adhikari stressed that the government's policy and program should address issues such as people's livelihoods, youth migration, and rural underdevelopment.

Similarly, Rana Kumari Balampaki of CPN (UML) suggested that the government should prioritize programs to create employment opportunities in the country.

Likewise, CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Tshiring Damdul Lama emphasized that the government's policy and program should prioritize the concerns of peasants and laborers and aim to make the country self-reliant in agriculture.
