Lucia Janičová has become the first Slovakian woman to successfully scale the world's highest peak, Mt. Everest.

Lucia successfully stood on top of Everest at 7:25 AM on May 12 accompanied by Sherpa, according to Seven Summit Treks.

With a background as a distinguished researcher in immuno-oncology, boasting extensive expertise in Drug Development, Cell Biology, Tumor Immunology, Sustainability, and Analytical Skills, the 37-year-old Janičová has now added a remarkable achievement to her repertoire.

Her passion for mountaineering serves as a conduit for strengthening both physical and mental well-being, propelling her to greater heights, both in elevation and the walk of life.

While asked her the key driver to the summit of Everest, she responded, 'When I found out that no Slovak woman had ever climbed Mount Everest, I saw it as a reflection of the deeply rooted gender inequality in our society, and I decided to break this barrier.'
