KATHMANDU, MAY 17
CPN-UML Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has insisted on the need to end the parliamentary impasse to meet the constitutional deadline for budget presentation by Jestha 15 (May 28).
In his address at a party program in Parsa on Friday, Oli stated that the parliament has a short time to complete the process before the budget announcement, making any obstruction uncalled for.
He accused the major opposition party, the Nepali Congress (NC), of spreading rumors that he was working to dissolve the parliament, arguing that such claims are false.
It should be noted that the major opposition has been obstructing parliament proceedings for days, demanding the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate the alleged role of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Rabi Lamichhane, in the embezzlement of cooperative funds.
At the program, Oli emphasized that the accused in the funds' misappropriation should be allowed to present his views before the House.
