Special Committee is government's guide: Home Minister Lekhak

Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak has said that the Parliamentary Investigation Special Committee on Misappropriation of Cooperatives Deposit Amount will be a guide to the government.
In a meeting of the Committee held at the Federal Parliament Secretariat Building in Singha Durbar today, Home Minister Lekhak asserted that the government is for the sustainable solution to the cooperatives' problem.
'The government has put the topic of finding solution to the cooperatives' problem in priority. Discussions are being held with the stakeholders for this. I have the belief that the Special Committee will be a guide to the government,' he said. The Home Minister pledged that the government will implement the Committee's directives.
The Committee has drawn the attention of the Home Minister to forward the process of promptly arresting those accused of misuse and misappropriation of the cooperative funds who are absconding within the country or abroad and to take legal action against them.
Committee coordinator Surya Bahadur Thapa Chhetri called on the Home Minister for his facilitation in recording statements from those who have been sent to jail on cases related to cooperative fraud.
On the occasion, Home Minister Lekhak said that necessary process has been initiated for arresting those who are on the run after embezzling the cooperative deposit amount. He added that the Home Administration would facilitate the Committee in recording the statements of those people put in jail in conviction of misuse of the cooperatives saving amount.
Home Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal and Inspector General of Nepal Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar were also present in the meeting.
