Prince Dahal exits Paris 2024 Olympics after loss to Israeli Player

KATHMANDU, JULY 31

Badminton player Prince Dahal has lost a match to Israeli player Misa Zilberman at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, currently under way in Paris, France. Zilberman trounced Dahal 2-0 in straight sets in the final game of the group stage today.

Prince lost the first set 12-21 in an encounter that lasted 16 minutes and the second set 10-21, which lasted 20 minutes. Prior to this, Prince, who played from Group P, lost to Viktor Axelsen of Denmark and to N. Nguyen of Ireland, both in straight sets of 2-0.

With this defeat, six out of the seven Nepali players participating in the Paris Olympics 2024 have exited. Table-tennis player Santoo Shrestha, shooter Sushmita Nepal, judoka Manita Shrestha Pradhan, and swimmers Duwana Lama and Alexander Shah have all lost their matches and exited from the Games.

Santoshi Shrestha remains to compete in the marathon.
