KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 4

Cancer treatment services have been expanded to three provincial hospitals across the country: Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadi, Surkhet Provincial Hospital in Surkhet, and Koshi Provincial Hospital in Biratnagar.

The BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital in Chitwan will facilitate the initiation of cancer treatment services at Seti Provincial Hospital, following an agreement signed today by Executive Director Dr. Shivaji Poudel on behalf of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital and Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Sher Bahadur Kamar, representing Seti Provincial Hospital.

Similar agreements have been signed with Surkhet Provincial Hospital and Koshi Provincial Hospital, as confirmed by the Ministry of Health and Population. The Ministry also announced plans to launch enhanced cancer care services at Madhesh Provincial Hospital in the near future.

It is noteworthy that Minister for Health and Population, Pradeep Poudel, endorsed the National Cancer Control Strategy 2024-2030 shortly after assuming office on July 15 this year. The Minister prioritized extending cancer treatment services to all seven provinces as part of his strategic initiatives.

Consequently, the BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital has been actively extending cancer care services and facilities across hospitals under its jurisdiction through formal agreements.
