Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, participated in the 7th International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly, which commenced last Sunday in New Delhi, India.

Leading a Nepali delegation, Minister Khadka arrived in the Indian capital for the four-day event, accompanied by senior energy expert Prabal Adhikari, Electricity Development Department Director General Navin Raj Singh, and his financial advisor Amit Shrestha.

The International Solar Alliance, launched at COP-21 in Paris in 2015, saw leaders from 120 countries commit to a collaborative effort in promoting solar energy.

Director General Singh noted that the assembly will address strategies to increase solar energy access, ensure energy security, and advance sustainable energy development. The event will also focus on empowering member countries to adopt solar solutions and mobilize financing for solar expansion.

The ISA aims to attract over $1,000 billion in investments by 2030, driving solar energy initiatives in member countries. This funding could support Nepal's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2045.

The assembly, co-chaired by India and France, will also include the election of a new executive committee.
