Nepali citizen on Interpol Red Notice for foreign employment fraud arrested in Cambodia, returned to Nepal

KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 5
Binu Shakya, a Nepali national wanted on an Interpol red notice for foreign employment fraud, was arrested and returned to Nepal on Sunday.
Originally from Mankha, Sindhupalchok, Shakya was apprehended in Cambodia with the support of the National Central Bureau (NCB) in Phnom Penh.
Shakya, alongside Sujan Acharya of Triyuga Municipality-10 in Udayapur, is accused of defrauding more than 40 individuals of over Rs 50.2 million, falsely promising them jobs in Singapore.
Following a complaint filed with the Crime Investigation Department at Nepal Police Headquarters, Interpol issued a red notice for both suspects on 19th Magh 2080 BS. After a coordinated international search, the two were located in Cambodia on 1st Ashoj 2081 BS.
Acharya was previously returned to Nepal on 9th Karti, while Shakya has now been handed over to the Kalimati Police Circle for further legal proceedings.
