UML, NC form mechanism for effective operation of three-tier governments

KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 6

The ruling CPN (UML) and Nepali Congress have established a mechanism to enhance the systematic and effective operation of the three-tier government system.

According to CPN (UML) leader and head of the party's publicity department, Rajendra Gautam, the eight-member mechanism, formed two days ago, includes four leaders from UML and four from the Nepali Congress.

Representing UML are Senior Vice-Chairperson Ishwor Pokharel, Vice-Chairperson and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, and Deputy General Secretary and Prime Minister's Political Advisor Bishnu Rimal.

The Nepali Congress is represented by Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, General Secretary Gagan Thapa, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, and Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba.

Additionally, Gautam shared that this mechanism would be expanded to include a three-member body at the provincial level and a two-member body at the district level.
