Miklajung Rural Municipality and Minamitane city of Japan establish sister city ties

KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 24

Miklajung Rural Municipality of Morang and the Minamitane City of Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan have established sister city relations.

The initiation of the sister city relations was announced in the presence of Minamitane Town chief Hiroyashu Kozono and Miklajung Rural Municipality chairman Babi Kumar Rai amidst a programme organized at Tanegashima of Kagoshima on Saturday.

The sister city relations were established at the coordination of former businessman of Japan and Nepali Congress leader Chiranjibi Thapa.

Governor of Kagoshima Prefecture Koichi Shiyota, Speaker Sunlo Siogama and Executive Director of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, Mashahi Okada from Japan side and lawmaker Dr Sunil Sharma. Businessman Jeevan Khadka and a representative of the Embassy of Nepal in Japan along with leader Thapa from Nepal side also attended the programme.

Minamitane is located on the southern end of Tanegashima, bordered by the East China Sea to the west and the Pacific Ocean to the east, and the town of Nakatane to the north.
