PM Oli extends Maghe Sankranti's greetings

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 14

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended his best wishes to all on the occasion of Maghe Sankranti, also known as Makar Sankranti, and Maghi festival.

PM Oli shared his greetings to all, writing on his social networking sites.

'Today is Maghe Sankranti. This is also the Maghi festival of Tharu community in Tarai area. This day is also called Makar Sankranti as the Sun moves from the Tropic of Capricorn towards the Tropic of Cancer,' the PM stated in his message.

In his message, the PM has stated the tradition of consuming ghee, Chaku, yam, Khichhadi and other delicacies.
