Minister Pandey announces 2025–2035 to be observed as the Tourism Decade

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 21

Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, announced that preparations are underway to designate 2025–2035 as the Tourism Decade.

Responding to queries from parliamentarians during the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee meeting of the National Assembly on Tuesday, Minister Pandey emphasized the importance of financial preparedness for the decade-long tourism initiative. He noted that discussions are ongoing regarding securing state investments and exploring potential foreign assistance for the campaign.

Addressing broader issues within the culture, tourism, and aviation sectors, the Minister assured that priorities are being set to resolve prevailing challenges.

'Requests for assistance related to stupas, temples, and mosques are handled with priority. We assess the contributions from federal, provincial, and local governments to advance such projects efficiently,' he explained.

Regarding airport management and development, Minister Pandey highlighted that feasibility studies are being conducted to evaluate the needs for airport construction, protection, and maintenance. Efforts are also underway to enhance operational airports and ensure excellence across all aspects.

Additionally, the Minister noted a policy decision requiring all government-related printing tasks to be carried out by the press located at the Nepal Academy, streamlining operations and ensuring efficiency.
