Gold price reaches historic high with Rs 1,100 surge on Tuesday

KATHMANDU, MARCH 18

The price of gold surged by Rs 1,100 on Tuesday, reaching a new historic high in the domestic market. Earlier, gold had touched a historic peak on Falgun 1, when it reached Rs 174,500 per tola, breaking all previous records.

Following this, the price dropped by Rs 400 per tola the next trading day, which was Sunday this week. The price remained stable at the same level on Monday but surged today with renewed vigor.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, fine gold is currently being traded at Rs 175,200 per tola.

Similarly, the price of silver also saw an increase of Rs 10 per tola today. After being traded at Rs 2,040 per tola on Monday, silver is now being sold at Rs 2,050 per tola.
