NEPSE recovers slightly on Wednesday, up by 40.47 points

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recovered slightly on Wednesday, gaining 40.47 points or 1.56% to close at 2,623.21 points, following a sharp 58-point drop on Tuesday that saw the index fall below the 2,600-point mark.
The stock market has experienced notable volatility this week, starting with a 53-point decline on Sunday. While the market showed some recovery on Monday with a 30-point increase, it could not maintain the momentum and faced another sharp decline on Tuesday.
Alongside the improvement in the benchmark index, the Sensitive Index, which tracks Class 'A' stocks, rose by 1.41%. The Float Index, reflecting actively traded shares, increased by 1.61%.
Today, market sentiment was largely positive, with all sectors closing in the green. The Others sector led the way with a 2.28% gain, followed by the Life Insurance sector, which saw a 2.14% increase. However, no other sectors saw gains exceeding the 2% mark.
In terms of individual stock movements, 231 stocks advanced, while 12 declined.
Despite the recovery in the NEPSE index, the daily turnover fell short of Tuesday's numbers. The intraday turnover was recorded at Rs 4.2 billion, with 9,142,941 units of shares traded across 317 scrips in 48,785 transactions. This represents a decline from Tuesday's turnover of Rs 5.1 billion.
