Nepal bags 10 medals, including 5 golds, at BKSP Judo Championship

KATHMANDU, MAY 27
Nepal clinched 10 medals - including five gold - at the Bangladesh Krira Shikhha Protisthan (BKSP) Cup Invitational International Judo Championship held in Bangladesh. The team also secured one silver and four bronze medals, finishing second overall in the tournament.
The standout performers were from Nepal's Prisoners Assistance Mission (PAM), whose five-member squad won four golds and a bronze, with each athlete returning home with a medal. Representing PAM were Nisha Shrestha, Binita Nepali, Pemba Yangji Sherpa, Samita Nepali, and Sabin Kumar Diyali.
Gold medals for Nepal were won by Diyali (men's under 60 kg), Bishesh BK (men's under 66 kg), Shrestha (women's under 45 kg), Binita Nepali (under 52 kg), and Sherpa (under 57 kg).
Riwaj Lama Tamang earned silver in the men's under 45 kg category, while bronze medals went to Buddha Gurung (men's under 55 kg), Bigyan Khattri (under 73 kg), Samita Nepali (women's under 44 kg), and Rekha Shrestha (under 63 kg).
The Nepali team was coached by Radha Devi Rai and Laxmi Tamang. Coach Rai also served as a referee during the tournament, said Nepal Judo Association President Deepak Harsha Bajracharya.
Hosts BKSP Bangladesh topped the medal table with six gold, eight silver, and ten bronze medals.
