Sampada School marks Environmental Day with call to cut plastic use

Sampada School observed Environmental Day with an awareness program at Basantapur Durbar Square on June 5, drawing the attention of locals, tourists, and environmental enthusiasts.

The event attracted locals, tourists, and environmental advocates, featuring student performances-including songs, plays, and dances-highlighting the environmental harm caused by plastic and promoting eco-friendly habits.

Held under the powerful theme 'Abolish or Reduce Plastic Use,' the event aimed to promote eco-friendly habits and raise awareness about the harmful impact of plastic on the environment.

The program featured a variety of engaging performances by students, including songs, skits, and dances focused on the urgent need to protect nature and reduce plastic consumption.

A short play depicted the damaging impact of plastic waste on marine life and land ecosystems, followed by a musical tribute to a plastic-free world and a lively dance encouraging positive change.

Students urged the public to take small yet meaningful steps such as using cloth bags, avoiding single-use plastics, and promoting recycling practices.

The event concluded with students and teachers taking a collective pledge to reduce plastic use in their daily lives, reaffirming their commitment to a cleaner and greener future.
