NEPSE gains 25 points as Finance sector soars 5.12% on Tuesday

KATHMANDU, JUNE 10

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its upward trajectory on Tuesday, with the benchmark index climbing 25.07 points (0.94%) to close at 2,678.17 points, while the finance sector emerged as the star performer with a staggering 5.12% surge. The NEPSE had increased by 23 points on Monday.

Market activity showed robust participation with 311 companies traded through 81,738 transactions, involving 23.7 million shares worth Rs 10.16 billion - a significant increase from Monday's turnover of Rs 8.68 billion.

The Sensitive Index (class 'A' stocks) gained 1.11%, slightly outpacing the Float Index's 0.92% rise.

The market breadth remained positive with 196 advancing stocks against 52 decliners, pushing the total market capitalization to Rs 4.460 trillion.
