National records set in Central President Running Shield Competition

KATHMANDU, JUNE 11

Two national records were broken in the ongoing 15th Central President Running Shield Competition at Dasharath Stadium, Tripureshwor.

Prabin Rana Magar of Bagmati Province set a new national record in the junior boys' 100-metre race, clocking 10.76 seconds and surpassing Ashish Chaudhary's previous record of 10.90 seconds.

In the junior girls' 400-metre race, Sangita BK of Sudurpaschim Province set a new record, finishing in 1 minute 01.19 seconds, breaking Aruna Rija's earlier mark of 1 minute 01.30 seconds.

Both athletes received cash prizes of Rs 10,000 each from the National Sports Council.

The multi-event competition, initiated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, features athletes competing for 26 gold medals.
