KATHMANDU, JULY 8

Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed Supreme Court Justices Megh Raj Pokharel, Shreekanta Poudel, and Shanti Singh Thapa at a ceremony held on the court premises today.

President Ramchandra Paudel appointed the justices on Monday following their endorsement by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee, based on the recommendation of the Judicial Council.

Soon after the swearing-in, all three justices officially assumed office.

In a separate ceremony, CJ Raut, in his capacity as Chairperson of the Judicial Council, also administered the oath to newly appointed Judicial Council member Mahesh Kumar Nepal.
