Surkhet recorded 1,837 dengue cases and four deaths in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS, according to the District Public Health Service Office.

The Office's dengue focal person, Udaya BC, said the risk of dengue has been increasing annually. The district had reported 639 cases in 2077/78, 1,322 in 2078/79, and 1,484 in 2079/80, before a slight decline in 2080/81.

Birendranagar, Panchapuri, and Gurvakot have been identified as high-risk areas for the disease.
