President Paudel Inspects Heritage Sites in Basantapur Area

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 4

President Ramchandra Paudel today conducted an inspection of various heritage sites in the Basantapur area of Kathmandu, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Accompanied by First Lady Sabita Paudel, the President also visited the Hanumandhoka Durbar Museum, located within the historic complex.

The Head of State was welcomed at Basantapur Durbar Square by Hari Prasad Mainali, Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation; Shaubhagya Pradhananga, Director General of the Department of Archaeology; and Kajiman Pyakurel, Executive Director of the Hanumandhoka Durbar Museum Development Committee, among other dignitaries.

During the visit, President Paudel observed several temples and cultural landmarks within the Hanumandhoka Durbar Square, including Kal Bhairav, Taleju Temple, Nautale Durbar (Nine-Storey Palace), Nasalchowk, Mulchowk, and Trishulchowk, among others.

Also present during the visit were House of Representatives member Sapana Rajbhandari, Province Assembly member Shailendra Bajracharya, and ward chairpersons from various wards within Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
