KATHMANDU, AUGUST 8
The Butwal–Narayanghat road section has once again been obstructed, halting traffic along the Daunne stretch of Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality–2 in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) under the East–West Highway.
According to Superintendent of Police Yadav Dhakal of the Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) District Police Office, vehicles have been unable to pass near Painsathi Mode in Daunne after getting stuck in muddy and slippery conditions caused by rainfall.
The Daunne section, which had been blocked since Monday morning due to continuous rain, had temporarily reopened before becoming obstructed again. The road has remained closed since this morning.
'Even in light rain, vehicles skid and fail to move, while trucks get stuck in the muddy road,' SP Dhakal said. 'Vehicles traveling uphill from east to west face significant problems due to slipping.'
Police confirmed that repair work is underway to clear the road and resume traffic flow.
The Bishwakarma Temple area in Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality–2 has experienced repeated blockages, with the Daunne section prone to closure even during moderate rainfall since hill cutting was carried out in the course of the Butwal–Narayanghat road expansion project.
