KATHMANDU, AUGUST 12

The first-ever K-Food Intensive Course in Nepal, aimed at returnee migrants from South Korea, concluded in Kathmandu on Monday. Organized with the support of the Korean Government, the eight-day programme offered 45 hours of training, including 42 hours of hands-on cooking sessions and three hours of theory classes.

Held from August 4 to 11, the course was led by Korean chefs and trainers, covering everything from basic techniques to advanced dishes. Participants learned to prepare authentic Korean cuisine using locally available ingredients and tools.

At the closing ceremony, South Korean Ambassador to Nepal congratulated all participants and commended their dedication. He encouraged them to use their skills to introduce authentic Korean food in Nepal, highlighting its potential to generate personal income, create jobs, and contribute to the country's economy. Special recognition was given to three award-winning participants for their outstanding performance.

KOICA Country Director Mooheon Kone also addressed the event, noting that the programme was part of the K-HaMi Project-a staged support system designed to help returnee migrants reintegrate and start new ventures in Nepal.

The embassy expressed hope that the graduates' future success stories will be featured in its publication 'You Can Be the Boss' (Tapai Pani Malik Banna Saknuhuncha), which showcases inspiring entrepreneurial journeys of migrant returnees.
