Kathmandu-based Valley Group has been awarded a sustainability certification from the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC).

At the recent U.S. Soy Connext event in Washington D.C., Managing Director of the Valley Group, Baburaja Rawal, was honored with the USSEC's sustainability certification.

Chief Executive Officer of USSEC, Jim Sutter, and other high-level officials presented the certification to the Kathmandu-based Valley Group for adopting the 'Fed with Sustainable U.S. Soy' label, showcasing its commitment to sustainability.

Rawal, who has been associated with the Valley Group of Companies since 2002, stated that the USSEC's sustainability recognition was a result of the joint efforts of his company's workers. 'It inspires us to accelerate our vision of building a legacy of bringing unmatched, healthier, and fresher quality protein to every consumer, day in and day out, thereby empowering the nation with prosperous health and happiness,' Rawal said.

USSEC's country lead for Nepal, Dr. Ashesh Bhattarai, said that the Valley Group was playing a pioneering role in promoting protein in the country and that it sets an example for sustainable business practices.

Umesh Chandra Sapkota, Director at Global Agro Products, stated that the Valley Group's commitment to becoming a household name for premium-quality food products with impeccable taste and exceptional service at an affordable price has been recognized with the USSEC sustainability certification.

Under the leadership of Baburaja Rawal, who has extensive experience in strategy formulation and implementation, client relationship management, and multi-site operations, the Valley Group of Companies continues the legacy of its founders: the late Shreekrishna Prasad Ghimire, Hari Krishna Rawal, and Sanubabu Bindukar. 'For over four decades, Valley Cold Store, a subsidiary of the Valley Group, has been expanding its store network and shortening the overall supply chain from farm to doorstep so that our products reach customers fresher and healthier,' Rawal said.

The ISO-certified Valley Group, which was established in 1984, operates several firms, including Valley Cold Store, Valley Feed Industry, Valley Poultry, and Valley Pellet Feed.
