BHARATPUR, SEPTEMBER 8

Clashes broke out in Bharatpur on Monday after Gen Z demonstrators protesting against corruption and the government's social media ban attempted to enter the Bharatpur Metropolitan City office.

Police responded with tear gas to disperse the crowd, while protesters alleged that aerial shots were also fired.

Following the clashes, large number of security personnel have been deployed in the area to prevent further escalation.

The Gen Z protests have been ongoing across the country, including in Pokhara, Biratnagar, Butwal, Jhapa, Chitwan, and other cities, where similar clashes and demonstrations have been reported. However, the protest in the New Baneshwor area of the Kathmandu Valley has become the most violent, resulting in the deaths of eight Gen Z protesters amid the escalating unrest.
