Chandragiri Cable Car Station Torched as Gen Z Protests Escalate

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 9

The lower station of the Chandragiri Hills cable car was set ablaze this evening by Gen Z protesters during a demonstration against corruption and the ongoing social media blockade in Chandragiri Municipality, on the western outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley.

The protesters also set ablze the CG Electronics Digital Park, Balambu and Thankot Police Station.

The protest escalated into violence in the aftermath of Monday's nationwide police crackdown, which left 19 young men dead.
