KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 9
Protesters set fire to the private residence of former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and that of CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Ram Narayan Bidari in Kathmandu this afternoon.
Earlier, demonstrators vandalized a traffic police motorcycle at Deuradepo before marching towards Kalanki, where they entered Lekhak's private property and set the building ablaze.
The Gen Z–led protest against corruption and the ongoing social media ban also targeted Bidari's residence in Dhungeadda, which was torched before the crowd moved on towards Kalanki.
Following the deaths of 19 young men in nationwide demonstrations on Monday, large numbers of youths gathered en masse today to protest against government actions.
The Gen Z protesters also chanted slogans, pelted stones and vandalized the property.
Protesters also set fire to the Malpot and Napi offices in Kalanki this afternoon.
