Dalai Lama has extended congratulations to Sushila Karki on her appointment as Nepal's interim Prime Minister.

In a message shared by his office, the Tibetan spiritual leader recalled the long-standing ties between the Nepalese and Tibetan peoples and expressed gratitude for Nepal's support in rehabilitating Tibetan refugees since 1959.

'The Tibetan community, though small, has contributed notably to Nepal's economic growth,' he wrote, adding that Nepal's progress is most meaningful when it uplifts the poor and needy.

The Dalai Lama wished Karki success in guiding Nepal through challenging times, offering his 'prayers and good wishes' as she leads the country toward new parliamentary elections within six months.
