KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 17

The last rites of Prabin Kulung (21), a resident of Silichong Rural Municipality, who lost his life during the Gen-Z protests, were performed today. He was fatally shot during demonstrations in Kathmandu.

Chief District Officer of Sankhuwasabha, Srijana Thapaliya, informed that the funeral took place in Lakuwa, Silichong-3. Kulung's body was airlifted to Silichong from Biratnagar by a Nepal Army helicopter after inclement weather on Tuesday had made direct transport to Silichong impossible.

Before the cremation, the Chairperson of Silichong Rural Municipality, Bhupal Raj Mewahang, draped Kulung's body with the national flag.

Kulung, who had been residing in Kathmandu for the past few years, was studying the Korean language.
