KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 19

President Ramchandra Paudel has hailed Nepal's Constitution as a unifying force for the country's diverse ethnic, linguistic, religious, cultural, and geographic communities, saying it has ended decades of discrimination under a centralized state.

In a Constitution Day message, President Paudel called on citizens to remain united to achieve sustainable peace, good governance, development, and prosperity through the federal democratic republic system. He highlighted the charter's vision of an egalitarian society rooted in social justice and a socialism-oriented economy.

The President emphasized equal access to state services and social security for all, while urging protection of Nepal's unique mountain, hill, and Terai harmony. He paid tribute to the martyrs of past democratic movements and acknowledged the contributions of political leaders and citizens who fought for the republic.

Constitution Day, observed nationwide today, commemorates the promulgation of Nepal's federal democratic charter on September 20, 2015 (Asoj 3, 2072 BS).
