KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 23

The District Public Health Office has reported six malaria cases in Chitwan since the start of the current fiscal year.

Three patients are from Bharatpur, two from Khairahani, and one from Rapti Municipality.

Most are aged 34–44 and had recently traveled to India, South Korea, or Sunsari district.

Last fiscal year, Chitwan recorded 10 malaria cases, but officials note that no locally transmitted infection has been reported in the past four years.

Health workers continue to monitor high-risk areas and urge residents to use mosquito nets and repellents.
