KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 23

A new 'time card' system has been introduced for Indian vehicles entering Nepal through the western Gaddachauki border checkpoint.

Under Schedule-5 of the Customs Duty Act 2081, Indian-registered vehicles may enter up to Mahendranagar Bazaar but must return within a set time, said DSP Sagar Bohara of the District Police Office.

The system aims to maintain proper records and monitor the movement of Indian vehicles.

Those failing to return within the allotted period will be detained and penalized.
