Over 553,000 people leave Kathmandu Valley for Dashain

Traffic police intensify monitoring as festival travel surges

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 1

More than 553,000 people have left Kathmandu Valley for their hometowns since the start of Dashain on September 22, according to the Valley Traffic Police Office.

During the same period, 285,308 people entered the Valley in over 72,000 vehicles.

The police further added that additional personnel, help desks, monitoring, and rescue teams have been mobilized to manage the heavy flow of travelers.
