NEPSE continues its losing streak, drops 45 points on Wednesday

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed another sharp decline on Wednesday, dropping 45.36 points, or 1.74 percent, to close at 2,599.9 points. The benchmark index had also fallen by 58.55 points (2.19 percent) on Tuesday.
The Sensitive Index, which tracks Class 'A' companies, fell 1.79 percent, while the Float Index, reflecting actively traded shares, dropped 1.90 percent.
All sectoral indices ended in the red, with the Finance sector posting the biggest loss of 3.09 percent, followed by Hotels and Tourism (3.03%), Hydropower (2.34%), Development Bank (2.28%), and Investment (2.02%) sectors.
Market turnover rose slightly to Rs 5.76 billion, up from Rs 4.62 billion on Tuesday, with 13.75 million shares of 335 companies traded in 63,509 transactions.
Only 18 scrips advanced, while 232 declined and one remained unchanged.
By the end of the trading session, total market capitalization stood at Rs 4.278 trillion, according to NEPSE.
