Nepal, UN discuss post-disaster relief and rehabilitation

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) held discussions with UN Resident Coordinator in Nepal, Hanaa Singer Hamdy, on ongoing post-disaster relief and rehabilitation efforts.
During the meeting at Singha Durbar, NDRRMA Executive Chief Dinesh Bhatt briefed Hamdy on human and property losses caused by recent monsoon-triggered disasters, particularly in Ilam.
He also outlined the early warning systems, response measures, and rehabilitation efforts initiated to mitigate risks. Hamdy, on her part, expressed the UN's readiness to support food and non-food relief, drinking water, sanitation, and initial rehabilitation programs in the affected districts.
According to NDRRMA Spokesperson Shanti Mahat, Hamdy commended Nepal's disaster response initiatives and reaffirmed continued UN cooperation.
